Phyllis Jean Sprague, 81, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Arlington, Texas. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis, Arlington, Texas 76012. Phyllis was born on May 8, 1938 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Dee Jay and Jackie Aline (McKeehan) Hudson. She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Sprague in 1981, her parents, one brother, Freddy Hudson and sister, Kay Hudson. Phyllis is survived by two daughters and one son, Tanya Nichols, Ramsey Sprague and Polly Sprague; grandchildren,Larry Easler, Ashley Easler, Megan Olds and Summer Harrison; great-grandchildren, Senthia Sanchez, Destinee Sanchez, Daysha Luckie, Hailey Easler, Trey Easler and Olivia Easler, and Christian Oils, Gabriel Olds and Jasmine Olds; great-great-grandchildren, Lilith Campos and (Future) Jaqueline Hernandez. Mary “Jane” Wright, 89, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 in Arlington. Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, at Fielder Church, 2011 S. Fielder Rd., Arlington. Jane was born on May 8, 1930 in Smithville, MO to Charles Frederick Atlee Harding and Leitha Catherine Tritt Harding. A resident of Arlington since 1957, she was an active member of Fielder Church. She performed volunteer work, worked in the nursery, and worked with special needs children for over 50 years. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Emil Wright on April 20, 2019; and daughter, Diana Branum. Survivors: Son, Danny Wright; daughter, Julie Wright Gale; 4 grandchildren, Susie, Daniel, Jennifer and Trevor; and 6 great-grandchildren, Emery, Will, Adalynn, Winston, Wyatt and Atley. Danny “Chief” Sustaire, 72, of Arlington, TX, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019. Visitation: 6:00pm Tuesday, August 6, 2019 and Service: 10:30am Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Wade Funeral Home in Arlington. Graveside service at Squaw Creek Cemetery, in Glen Rose to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks all to consider making a donation to Russ Martin’s Show Listeners’ Foundation in Danny’s honor. Danny was born on February 23, 1947 in Fort Worth to Blackie and Maxine Sustaire. After high school Danny enlisted and served in the US Navy for four years. He joined the Arlington Police Department on August 4, 1970 and retired from the force on November 15, 2001. Danny then went on to work for the Denton and Tarrant counties’ DA offices for years before closing out his career with the Tarrant County Sheriff Dept in 2016. In total, Danny served proudly in law enforcement for 46 years and continues to be greatly respected and loved by the community. Being an officer was not Danny’s only role, he was also a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to so many. Helping people was his greatest joy and he would often go out of his way to do so. His kindness was never-ending, his faith never in doubt, and his friends and family kept his heart full of happiness. Danny is survived by his wife: Pamala Sustaire, daughter: Stephanie Sustaire VanBrocklin and husband, Jarrod; son: Evan Sustaire and wife, Lauren; grandchildren: Jeri Layne Cox and husband, Collin; and Jacob VanBrocklin; and two great grandchildren. Peggy Joyce Heim, 80, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Arlington. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Lake Arlington Baptist Church, 2912 Little Road, Arlington. Interment: Hawkins Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, Arlington. Memorials: Memorials may be made in Peggy’s name to the American Cancer Society. Peggy was born January 20, 1939 in Mobile, AL to William Lavert McKee and Junia McElhaney McKee. She was a very active member of Lake Arlington Baptist Church and was conservative in her politics and lifestyle. Peggy loved bird watching and spending time at the family ranch in Ingram, Texas. She volunteered at Hughley Hospital for 31 years, serving as president of the auxiliary for 2 terms and was a board member for 12 years. Eric Kleiner, 72, of Kennedale, Texas, passed away August 5, 2019, in Arlington. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, 76013. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 26, 1947 to Lawrence and Merry Kleiner. He was married to Catherine Kleiner. Eric graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1969 with a degree in Engineering Science and later completed his masters in Systems Management. Eric served in the United States Air Force for over twenty years as an officer and instructor pilot and was a Vietnam veteran. After retirement from the USAF, he owned and operated multiple Hobby Town stores. Eric was an active member in Civil Air Patrol for many years. He loved playing golf with his friend Merlin Michaud, fishing, traveling, and flying for fun. In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory. He is survived by his children: Jon Kleiner, of Liberal, Kansas, and Kimberly and Christopher Lambert, of Redfield, Arkansas. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kyle, Cody, and Kaitlyn. Thuan Vo, 63, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. There will also be a visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2019, 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. The burial mass for Mr. Vo will be on Saturday, August 17th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Vietnamese Catholic Church, 1902 S. Beltline Road, Grand Prairie, Tx, 75052 with the Burial Service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Beltline Road in Grand Prairie. Thuan was born on August 25, 1955 in Saigon, Vietnam to Thoi and Ly Vo. He married Xuan Doan in Amarillo, Texas on April 12, 1977. Thuan was kind, quiet and patient, but above all, a devoted husband and loving father to his two children. He supported his family by working long hours as an electrician for Quality Sausage Company for over 33 years. He spent his free time traveling with his wife, visiting his children and grandchildren, tinkering around the house, fishing and hunting and continuing to root for the Dallas Cowboys. Surviving their beloved father is Doane Vo and wife, Rosa of Grand Prairie, and Thao Vo and wife, Lien of Grand Prairie. Gary Lynn Clark passed in peace Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Fort Worth, Texas. Memorial Service: 2:00 pm August 17, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Pecan Gap, Texas. Gary was born August 14, 1959 in Commerce, Texas. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather. Gary was a cowboy in every sense of the word. He loved his cattle, but his family was his true passion. He was an entrepreneur using his many skills to create multiple successful businesses, while working in the oilfield for over 30 years. Marvin was born on October 14, 1931 in Breckenridge, TX to Marvin A. Layne and Jessie Daisy Halbrook Layne. A graduate of Peaster High School, he was a resident of Arlington since 1968. Marvin served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Doris Duvall in 1953. He was a member of the New World United Methodist Church. Marvin was a former civil service employee with the Department of Health and Human Services. He retired from the State of Texas Department of Rehabilitation. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 65 years, Doris Duvall Layne. Betty Nelle Culver Spriggs passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Arlington. Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, First Presbyterian Church, 1200 S. Collins, Arlington, TX and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, Presbyterian Disciples Church, 101 E. 12th St., Pawhuska, OK. Betty was born in 1931 in Longview, Texas, to Ben and Verna Blackburn Culver. She grew up on the family’s cattle ranch in Osage County, Oklahoma. Following graduation from Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia, Missouri, she continued her education at Oklahoma A & M College (now Oklahoma State University) earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1952. She went on to teach physical education in Tulsa and Muskogee, Oklahoma. In 1972, she went to work at the Wichita Public Library as Director of Talking Books for the blind and physically handicapped. Betty retired after 24 years and later worked part-time as a house manager for Ronald McDonald House. She will be remembered most by the love, acceptance and kindness she gave to everyone she met, and how she loved to laugh and have fun. Betty loved people and her family and friends were everything to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Lee Spriggs; brothers, Paul Henry Culver and Bill Joe Culver; sister, Mary Margaret Sylvester; and brother-in-law, David Sylvester. Survivors: Son, Paul David Spriggs; daughter, Mary Spriggs Hill and husband, Paul; father of her children, Robert P. Spriggs; grandsons, Brandon Spriggs and Corey Spriggs and wife, Ali; step-grandson, Chris Hill and wife, Liberty; great-grandson, Alexander Spriggs; step-great-granddaughter, Rosemary Hill; sister-in-law, Jannis Dykeman; step-granddaughter, Jamie Kubecka and her daughter, Isabelle; step-grandson, Michael Kubecka; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter Eugene (“Gene”) Rainwater, 104, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 in Tulsa, OK. Funeral: 9 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Graveside: 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 22 at the funeral home. Gene Rainwater was born in Oklaunion, Texas on July 18, 1915. The fourth child to Roscoe and Gertrude Rainwater. The family moved to Vernon when Gene was 12. Gene finished high school at the age of 16 and worked for the weekly Vernon Trade News for 5 years as the writer, publisher and delivery person. He saved money for college and attended Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, and obtained a degree in Journalism in 1940. Gene graduated from Texas Tech with Highest Honors, second in his class. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Mather Air Force Base near Sacramento, California. Gene trained as an aerial navigator and became an instructor at Mather. He was transferred to San Marcos, Texas, to start a new navigation school and worked as an instructor and training officer until January 1945. During his service, Gene served on loan to the Air Transport Command as a long-range navigator to ferry B-26 bombers and troops to overseas bases. Gene was in London twice during the war and lived through two bombings of the city. Gene remained in the reserves until he retired in 1975 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He met his wife Georgia Isbell in Vernon, Texas, at First Baptist Church. They married on December 26, 1946 in Fort Worth at Polytechnic Baptist Church. They moved to Sherman and had two sons, David and Paul. The family moved to Fort Worth where Gene worked as a revenue officer for the IRS until he retired in 1975. After retirement, Gene and Georgia traveled the world seeing 60 countries. In retirement, Gene took up archeology and traveled to Central America with the University of Texas archeology group. Gene attended several archeological expeditions in Mexico, Belize, Texas and New Mexico. Gene also took up golf where he had three holes in one witnessed by his golfing group. Gene was a church member and served as a deacon in Sherman, Fort Worth and Arlington for many years. He was a member of the Breakfast Optimist Club of East Fort Worth, a group dedicated to bringing out the best in kids and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He drove for Code Blue, a neighborhood watch program, for many years and was recognized by the Fort Worth Police Department when he retired at the age of 99. While Gene remained a Texan at heart, he spent the last three years of his life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be near his granddaughter, Celeste. They lived one mile apart and spent time together almost every day. Until the end Gene laughed a lot, watched golf and the Texas Rangers on TV, worked crossword puzzles in the Star Telegram and often beat Celeste at solving the puzzles on Wheel of Fortune. Shortly before his death Gene shared that he was blessed; he had a good life, good health, a long marriage, was able to serve his country and see the world, he had many friends and family who loved him. Willie B. (Pack) Lackey went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the age of 95. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, August 30, at Woodland West Church of Christ, 3101 W. Park Row Drive, Arlington. Interment: East End Cemetery, Lingleville, Erath County. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 29, at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Willie B. was born January 22, 1924 to the late Edward David and Johnie (Bills) Pack in Stephenville, TX. After a three-month courtship, she married her forever love, J.C. Lackey, and spent 58 years together until J.C.’s passing in 1999. She loved gardening, canning vegetables, taking care of her almost two acres of land up until she was in her 90’s, fighting off the deer in her garden and the squirrels in her pecan trees, and she always had the prettiest flowers in her yard. She loved to sew and make gowns. She also made most of her own clothes. She was a member of the Church of Christ from a young age and would read her Bible every day. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Lackey, son, T.E. (Tommy) Lackey, daughter, Patricia Bonham, two brothers, Gordon Lee and J.E. Pack, and grandson, Chris Pollard. Survivors include daughter, Brenda Pollard and husband Gary, son in law Murvin Bonham; Grandchildren: Danny Bonham and wife Cindy, Cheryl Cox and husband Roger, Dwayne Lackey, Dale Lackey, Craig Pollard and wife Haley, and Michelle Pollard; Great Grandchildren: Russell Cox, Jesse Cox and wife Jana, Michael Cox, Spencer Cox, Brooke Pollard, Trent Pollard; Great-Great Grandchildren: Jael, Joshua, and Juliette Cox.
